Low-loss, broadband Ti:LiNbO3 waveguide phase modulators for coherent systems.

We report the design, fabrication and performance of a fiber- pigtailed, broadband traveling-wave X-cut Ti:LiNbO3 phase modulator for lambda = 1.55micron with 1.8 dB total insertion l and 8 volt modulation voltage.
