A burst-mode laser driver for use in 155 Mb/s and 50Mb/s passive optical networks (ATM-PON/FSAN, N-PON, pi-PON) uses mixed signal design techniques in a standard 0.5 micron CMOS process to achieve the low power consumption of 15mW.
