LPC Arithmetic Processing.

The problem of arithmetically processing signals in the LPC domain is considered in this paper. Specifically, the paper derives a solution to the problem of adding two or more LPC signals. A direct application of the solution is found in an LPC conference calling system. Throughout this paper, the LPC conference calling problem is used as a vehicle to find a solution to the problem of adding LPC signals. To simplify the problem, a specific conference calling example is considered. In this example three people are engaged in a conference call where at most two people are speaking and the third listening. In such a scenario, the solution to the LPC conference calling problem involves deriving a single set of LPC parameters from the LPC parameter sets corresponding to the two callers.
