Machine Vision for Process Improvement: A design Experience

A machine vision system should be designed in the context of providing tools for process improvement. Obvious benefits of a vision system, such as the reduction in labor costs, and the potential for 100% part inspection are important, but providing process control and improving the manufacturing process can often provide the greatest long-term economical savings.
