Magnetic Fluctuations and Short-Range Order in Frustrated Triangular SrCr sub (8-x) Ga sub (4-x) O sub (19)
In SrCr sub (8-x) Ga sub (4+x) O sub (19) antiferromagnetically interacting (theta sub CW)~500K) Cr ions occupy a 2d Kagome' lattice. The groundstate of Ising spins on this lattice is known to be disordered and to have a higher ground-state entropy than the triangular lattice. We have studied the magnetic fluctuations and short-range order in this highly correlated but disordered system by magnetic neutron-scattering.
