Using the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source, measurements have been made of the change in intensity of a Bragg reflection and its harmonics when the magnetization perpendicular to the scattering plane is reversed in a Gd-Y superlattice. The results are compared to models for the local variation in spin density in a superlattice.
