Magnetooptical Rotational of Two New Magnetic Garnets - Praseodymium and Neodymium Iron Garnets
When the crystal chemistry of the rare earth iron garnets was originally explored in the early sixties, it was found that PrIG and NDIG could not be obtained by solid state reaction. Though crystals of all the other pure REIG were grown, only compositions with the dodecahedral site partially filled with praseodymiuum and neodymium could be prepared from high temperature solution.
