Majord'Home: a software-based ISP-managed majordomo to take care of your home network

With the increasing number and variety of connected devices, most of the end-users lack knowledge about how to manage their home networks nor want to spend time in doing it. In this paper, we propose a new approach to remove the burden of home network management from end users, by fully virtualizing the smart home network and delegating its management and operations to the ISP, while keeping the end-users in control. We define the architecture of our software-based Majord'Home solution we are developing. We illustrate how it will act like a majordomo of the home in a use case scenario that will use a demonstrator prototype we are implementing.
