Manufacturing Issues Associated With Heterostructure ICs

Heterostructure materials provide significant advantages for integrated circuit performance, but the manufacturing technology required to fabricate these devices is quite demanding. Under Government contract, a pilot line for production of high speed GaAs IC's was established, and a development program to demonstrate yield and performance capability is in progress.
