Marine transmitter with single-sideband facility

The design of a marine transmitter covering the appropriate frequencies in the bands 400 to 535 kc/s and 1.6-25. 5 Mc/s is described. The transmitter provides for Al, A2H, A3A and A3H modes of operation; maximum carrier output is 1.2 kW. The frequency synthesizer, pre-amplifier, modular, linear power amplifier and power supply are described, with supporting block- and circuit-diagrams. The means adopted to achieve optimum aerial loading are discussed.
