Maximum Likelihood Carrier Phase Estimation Based on Monte Carlo Integration

The mean-squared error performance and phase noise variance tolerance of a maximum likelihood carrier phase estimation based on Monte Carlo integration is evaluated and used as a baseline for comparison with two relaxed versions of this estimator.
