Mesoscopic Structures in a Fully Field Effect 2D Electron System
01 January 2007
The ability to construct mesoscopic devices with control of local electron densities on high mobility heterostructures is important to the advancement of reduced dimensional electronic system physics. Presented here is a method for producing mesoscopic structures in fully field effect 2D electron systems, which takes advantage of the extensive electron density control available to a system in which both the bulk and mesoscopically defined electronic densities can be tuned via overlapping gate arrays. Example high mobility devices using this generally applicable method are demonstrated.
