mmMAGIC Deliverable D3.2: Evaluations of the concepts for the 5G architecture and integration

This deliverable D3.2 has its focus on concepts for 5G systems operating in mm-wave frequency bands and the integration into the overall 5G system. The concepts rely on architectural enablers and RAN functionalities designed to handle mm-wave specific challenges. These enablers and functionalities are described and evaluated with respect to performance and ability to meet the architectural requirements of the addressed use cases. Energy efficiency is considered in a wider context of a multi-RAT framework, which can integrate various types of RATs. Finally, the interrelation and dependencies of the enablers and functions are highlighted, as well as the impact of interactions between them under specific conditions. As the final deliverable of WP3, D3.2 summarizes the project outcome and gives recommendations how to efficiently integrate a 5G mm-wave system with other 5G and legacy systems.
