Mode-Group-Selective Photonic Lanterns based on Integrated 3D Devices Fabricated by Ultrafast Laser Inscription

We demonstrate a three-dimensional adiabatically-tapered mode-selective spacedivision multiplexer fabricated by ultrafast laser inscription. The device supports two mode groups at 1550 nm, has a loss of 3.5 dB, and is scalable to more modes.
