Mode-Selective Dissimilar Fiber Photonic-Lantern Spatial Multiplexers for Few-Mode Fiber

We demonstrate a 3 SMF fiber-based photonic lantern spatial-multiplexer that selectively excites the LP01 and LP11 modes. The mode-selectivity is greater than 6 dB and insertion loss is below 2.4 dB when coupled to a graded-index FMF.
