Modeling and Analysis of Handover Algorithms

Handover between various networks or cells of same network is an important problem faced by mobile nodes. With so many handover algorithms available, how to evaluate and select them become critical. Wrong Decision Probability and Handover Probability are proposed in this paper as criterions to evaluate handover algorithms. Explicit expressions for them are vigorously studied and performance of bandwidth based handover algorithms is given. A predication based handover algorithm is also proposed to improve the algorithm¡¯s performance.
