Modulation und Kodierung in optischen Kernnetzen

Modulation and coding methods in optical core networks have seen a significant evolution over the last few years. Enabled by coherent detection and motivated by the introduction of 100 GBps transmission rates, a number of telecom operators utilize transmission techniques in their core networks that a few years ago were reserved for wireless and wireline access applications. In this paper, we will review some of these techniques.
