Molecular Ordering in Bis(phenylenyl)bithiophenes

The molecular order of three oligothiophenes was investigated using X-ray diffraction. Functionalized bis(phenylenyl)bithiophenes, HOPTTPOH (5,5'-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2,2'-bithiophene) and HOC6PTTPC6OH (5,5'-bis-4-(6-hydroxyhexyloxy)-phenyl-2,2'-bithiophene) and the comparison with an additional simplified molecule 2PTTP2 (5,5'-bis(4-ethylphenyl)-2,2'-bithiophene) were studied, and their crystal structures determined.
