Using silicon photonic integrated circuits (PICs), we demonstrate the generation, transmission over 2560-km standard single-mode fibers, and detection of 112-Gb/s polarizationdivision- multiplexed quadrature phase-shift keying signals. These silicon-based PICs promise compact, low-power-consumption and low-cost coherent transceivers
