New Technology for Radio Astronomy

Radio Astronomy has been a field which depended heavily on new technology for advances. As we enter the 1990's, though, receiver sensitivity has approached fundamental limits for wavelengths above 2.5mm. Only in the sub-millimeter/far-infrared band can we expect significant improvements in receiver sensitivity and reliability from new technology.
