This memorandum expands (by updating through October 1985) the categorized bibliography given in Operations Research Methods in Production/Operations Management: A Survey, by J. C. Mitchell (59513-841228-03TM). The previous memorandum discusses the purpose, functions and decision processes of typical manufacturing operations. It discusses key issues for each decision process and provides a classification scheme for the operations research models that are used as decision support tools. A representative selection of such models is included for illustrative purposes. It also contains an extensive set of categorized references (with recommendations from the perspective of a practitioner) of recent operations research literature through October 1984, organized according to the classification scheme for the models. The decision processes defined and discussed are the operational decisions, namely,production/inven tory planning, operations scheduling, hierarchical production planning, and diagnostic analysis of manufacturing operations.
