Optical Interconnections and Electronic Packaging

We discuss ways optical interconnections are used with present electronic packaging, consider possible enhancements, and point out that these are still basically electronic systems. Questions about future directions will be discussed: Are fully optical circuit packs on the horizon (or at least PWBs with printed optical paths)?
