Optimized Spectrally Efficient Transceiver for 400-Gb/s Single Carrier Transport in Long-Haul Systems

We demonstrate a single carrier modulated 400-Gb/s transceiver occupying a 64 GHz bandwidth, leveraging an optimization procedure of optical pre-emphasis and forward error correction coding. We validate its design by transporting 5 channels over 6000-km, at 6.0-bit/s/Hz spectral efficiency.
