Orientational effects in resonance energy transfer between a planar assembly of donors and an acceptor.

This is a discussion of the dependence of resonance energy transfer between a planar assembly of donors and an acceptor out of the donor plane, as a function of the principal orientations of the donor and acceptor transition moments, with respect to the donor plane. Both linear and planar transition moments are considered. This discussion will appear in the Journal of Biological Chemistry as an appendix to a paper on the cytosol- membrane interface of sickle erythrocytes.
