Phase conjugation driven by orthogonal pump waves in birefringent fibers

Phase conjugation driven by orthogonal pump waves in birefringent polarization-maintaining fibers is studied analytically and numerically. For typical parameters the gain bandwidths and polarization sensitivities associated with orthogonal pump waves are comparable to those associated with parallel pump waves. However, the maximal gains are significantly lower.
