Polymer theory: A conspectus of several recent advances.

Some fundamental polymer theory underlying many phenomena currently being investigated by photophysical and photochemical techniques is reviewed. 1. Equilibrium properties of dilute and semi- dilute solutions. 2. Relaxation of single and of entangled macromolecules. 3. Dynamics of conformation transitions. This survey is to appear in the proceedings of the NATO Advanced Study Institute on Photophysical and Photochemical Tools in Polymer Science.
