PostScript pictures in troff documents.
09 November 1987
Combining text and graphics has always been difficult. We describe a new mechanism for integrating text prepared for troff with pictures described as PostScript programs. The growing use of PostScript as a standard page description language, and the corresponding proliferation of programs that produce PostScript and printers that accept it, promises to make this an attractive alternative. Our approach allows virtually any PostScript page description to be included in a troff text document at any position on the page, in any orientation and scaling, and with the possibility of wrapping text around it.
