Power Considerations for Cable Telephony Networks
01 January 2000
During the past year, a number of companies have stepped up efforts in offering expanded data and telephone services over cable networks. In addition, cable television is also rapidly migrating to providing digital TV as well as additional multimedia-based services. All these efforts are focused on exploiting the high-bandwidth capability offered by Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial networks, which today have the capability of connecting to 97% of US households and count 70% of the households as subscribers. Similar efforts are also being pursued in most developed and developing countries. In short, the cable revolution is upon us.
