Practises in Telephone Transmission Maintenance Work

This paper describes t h e practical applications of transmission maintenance methods in a telephone system. T h e methods applicable to toll circuits of various types are first discussed, information being included in this connection on t h e maintenance of t h e amplifier circuits involved in telephone repeaters and carrier. Testing methods applicable to the local or exchange area plant are next described, t h e description including both manual and machine switching systems. T h e results accomplished in toll and local t r a n .
