Preparation and Dielctric Properties of Dipolar Polymers for Nonlinear Optical (NLO) Applications

We have prepared new polymetric materials, 1 and 2, by linking highly dipolar monomer units in a head-to-tail manner. Materials of this type are potentially advantageous for seecond order NLO applications because in an extended conformation the molecular moments of the individual chromophores are additive.
