Preparation and polishing of Large Lithium Niobate Boules for Second Harmonic and Prism Coupling Analysis

There is no doubt that lithium niobate will be the prime material for first generation active and passive integrated optical devices. The polishing of windows and wedges in the large, 3 kg lithium niobate boules for second harmonic and prism coupling analyses presents an unique fabrication challenge.
