Preparation and Properties of PbO-MgO-Nb sub 2 O sub 5 Ceramics Near the Pb(Mg sub 1/3 Nb sub 2/3) O sub 3 Composition

We studied the preparation and measured the properties of PbO- MgO-Nb sub 2 O sub 5 ceramics near the Pb(Mg sub 1/3 Nb sub 2/3) O sub 3 composition including effects of PbTiO sub 3 dopant. We examined microstructures, sintering behavior and phase compositions in this system and we discovered and prepared several new compositions which have a single phase perovskite and a high dielectric constant of (>28000), and which have a low sintering temperature (950-1020C).
