Probability Densities of Second Order Polarization Mode Dispersion including Polarization Dependent Chromatic Fiber Dispersion

We describe statistical theory, experiments and simulation of second-order polarization mode dispersion components on optical fibers with emphasis on polarization-dependent chromatic dispersion (PCD). Excellent agreement is found between experimental, simulated, and theoretical probability densities. The PCD probability density has the same shape as the first-order optical soliton intensity.
