Probing the Atomic Structure of Semiconductors

For technological and scientific reason, semiconductor physics has been characterised by a continuing drive towards the fabrication and understanding of ever smaller systems. The exciting range of new phenomena made accessible by the advent of systems of reduced dimensionality has stimulated the fabrication of systems in which quantum effects dominate.
