Of the high temperature superconductor families, the YBa sub 2 Cu sub 3 O sub 7 member still offers potential for high critical current density (J sub c). A number of processing methods which can lead to relatively high values of J sub C will be discussed. Among these are the melt textured growth method, the metal melt oxidation method, press forging and tape casting. The processing and results from these methods will be reviewed.
