Ceramic processing methods have been used to prepare high T sub c superconductors in both the La sub (2-x)Sr sub (x)CuO sub (4-8) system and the Ba sub 2 YCu sub 3 O sub (9-8) system. Using tape casting technology, thin sheets of flexible tape have been fabricated from powders of the superconducting oxides. It is demonstrated that sintered shapes fabricated by these and other methods are superconducting at temperatures as high as 93K.
