Processing Parameters of High T sub c Superconductors

Special properties of YBa sub 2 Cu sub 3 O sub 7 and its precursors are shown to have significant effects on ceramic processing of these high T sub c superconductors. Phase stability and oxygen stoichiometry impose both a range of sintering temperatures for densification and various cooling conditions for conversion to the superconducting orthorhombic phase.
