Programmable optical multicasting in a regional/metro area network using a wavelength selective optical cross-connect

We propose and demonstrate a novel optical multicast network using a wavelength selective optical crossconnect and a multi-wavelength optical source. The system allows flexible optical wavelength source sharing between a service provider and a content provider.
