Providing Security in Telecommunications Networks (Text in Spanish)

In this article, we will present a brief introduction to network security and its importance to the overall survivability of communications. Sources of attacks and threats will be examined as well as the Security Framework developed by Bell Laboratories that has been introduced for standardization in ITU and ISO. This framework assists network managers preventing, mitigating, and recovering from such attacks.
