Service Transparent Full Fiber Access Network

This paper presents a solution for a full fiber access network, which is service transparent and supports the business model of an access provider who is independent of any service provider. The transport technology is Ethernet over fiber. The interface at the customer premises is 10/100 BASET Ethernet. Aggregation of traffic is performed at layer 2. A service intelligent IP layer is provided at the interface between the access network and the Service Provider's network. Subscriber operations can be fully automated.
