Simulation of Coherent Ask Lightwave Systems

The ASK heterodyne modulation format is attractive for coherent lightwave systems, because it provides improved sensitivity and channel selectivity over a direct detection without a narrow lidewidth requirement. Exact analysis of this simple receiver has been hampered by the calculation of the noise statistics of filtered phase noise.
