Software Product Manufacture and Control
31 October 1988
Software product manufacture and control is a strategic technology for managing a product during its life cycle. To stay competitive, we must build and deliver higher quality products faster and we must do this throughout the life cycle of the product, not just for the first release. In addition, we readily recognized that product refers to customer deliverables as well as internal or intermediate items, such as requirements, and test scripts needed to produce the deliverables. The deliverables may be software, hardware, firmware, documentation, or a mixture. Although this talk focuses on software product manufacture, the control aspects apply equally as well to hardware and documentation.
