Software Productivity Measurements

There has always been confusion in measuring productivity associated with software products and their development processes. Without establishing a set of reliable and operational measurement metrics for a software product, it is difficult to analyze the software product and its development process. To improve the quality of a software product, and the productivity of the development process, accurate measurements of input to and output from the development process must be made and appropriate productivity factors must be identified and understood.
