Software Prototyping - Application to the Development Process.

Development of computer software is considered by some to be more an art than a science -- more an exercise at creativity than one governed by rules and methodology -- yet in the last few years, there have been numerous attempts to treat software development as an engineering discipline (for example, [1, 2, 3, 4]), and in doing so, quantify the development process and apply to it standards and methodologies.
