We describe rapid prototyping as a software development process, which provides improved software quality and increases software productivity in addition to other benefits such as reduced costs, reduced risk, shorter schedules, and customer satisfaction. Dr. Deming defines quality as 'continually meeting customers' needs and expectations at a price that they are willing to pay''. We see two parts to quality from this definition: (1) needs and expectations of the customers and (2) price.
