Software Reliability Engineering Technology Transfer... The Quest For Quality

The quality of goods and services companies provide to their customers is becoming more and more a strategic management issue. As managers in high tech industries attempt to meet the challenge of fulfilling their clients` product quality expectations, they are pursuing new technologies to help improve product and process quality. The Software Development Industry represents an area where quality improvement is at the forefront of industry issues being addressed. The assembled technologies being sought to address the needs of the Software Development Industry are referred to as Software Engineering. While a new Engineering discipline, significant new methodologies have arisen lately. The efficient transfer of these methodologies and technologies from theory into practice is the subject of this paper.
