Software Reuse: Joint Development Experiences on Network Protocol Software (NOT PUBLISHED)

The development of the British Telecom Derived Digital Services Network (BT-DDSN) required the development of new interfaces for the interconnection of four AT&T Systems. The developers for these systems took a unique approach to the development of these interfaces by applying the concept of software reuse across the systems and embarking on what amounted to a joint development led by two of the systems. This development approach is now considered a strong success by all those involved.
