The Exponential Transmission Line

H E exponential line m a y b e defined a s a n o r d i n a r y transmission line in which t h e spacing between the conductors (or conductor size) is n o t c o n s t a n t b u t varies in such a w a y t h a t t h e d i s t r i b u t e d i n d u c t a n c e a n d capacitance v a r y exponentially w i t h the distance along the line. T h a t is, the i m p e d a n c e ratio for t w o p o i n t s a fixed distance a p a r t is i n d e p e n d e n t of t h e position of these t w o points along t h e line.
