Thermionic Vacuum Tubes and Their Applications
01 October 1923
T h e present materia! was originally prepared for t h e N a t i o n a l Research Council for use in a proposed Manual on " Physical Research Methods and Technique." As t h e a p p e a r a n c e of t h e Manual h a s been postponed, t h e C o m m i t t e e in charge of its p r e p a r a t i o n h a s kindly consented to t h e s e p a r a t e publication of some of t h e sections in various technical magazines. In order to meet t h e r e q u i r e m e n t s of t h e Manual, t h e f o r m of expression h a s been m a d e as c o m p a c t as possible with practically no discussion of t h e o r y a n d no derivation of formulas. Since this style of presentation leaves much to be desired f r o m some points of view, references h a v e been given to t h e original literature wherever possible. However, m a n y of t h e v a c u u m t u b e circuits presented h a v e not as y e t been t r e a t e d in t h e literature. In t h e p r e p a r a t i o n of t h e new material t h e a u t h o r h a s been greatly helped by persons whose c o n t a c t with these s u b j e c t s is at first h a n d . Contents: I.
