Traffic simulation and its application in telephony
01 January 1963
Discusses the principles of traffic simulation by means of an electronic computer. Telephone traffic is simulated by generating random numbers each representing a state of outlet occupancy. The switching network is here supposed to be of the busy-signal type and not delay type. Probability of changes in outlet state, Erlang and Engset traffic types are considered. Outlines of the simulation programme are illustrated with a block diagram and sonic sample test results have been compared with calculated results.
